WebGL around the net, 22 March 2010

Three for today:

  • The Spaciblō project is creating a set of tools which enable web based social spaces. While the lessons from urban planning, architecture, virtual worlds and online games are relevant and considered, this project uses the social and technological patterns of the web as its starting points.” And it’s using WebGL to do it.
  • Not sure how I managed to miss these: some more demo-scene shader demos from Dag Ågren.
  • A bit more from EnergizeGL: a video of a demo page that shows 3D shapes reflecting the current state of Twitter, polled every two seconds, and, more interactively, an online WebGL IDE!

  1. Hey, thanks for the shout-out, Giles.

    WebGL hacking as a whole would be better if backed by a solid, open stack for multiuser spaces and I’m looking for collaborators to make that a reality. My background is with the server-side, so GL hackers are especially welcome.

    @aa – that’s a new demo from Francesco Banterle, one of my great collegues. I also added cubemap support in SpiderGL in these days, we’ll see something new in the next days :) .

    just letting you guys know that I couldn’t sit on SceneJS V0.7 a minute longer – I pushed out what I’ve done so far and held back a few features (like picking, arg) for a more polished release in a few days. You know how it is, you get all deep-fried after all the debugging and just have to release SOMETHING.

    Get your WebGL out and visit the live IDE, where you can “load” your own scene and share a link to it. Here’s an example:
